industrial climbing
Hard-to-reach workplace? We provide access.

Rope access, or industrial climbing, offers a safe and efficient alternative to renting scaffolding, an aerial work platform, or a crane. Our certified climbers perform work in hard-to-reach locations. Thanks to our team of specialists, we are quickly and widely deployable, both within and outside the Netherlands.

About us

Bijlage 1

With over 20 years of experience, Rope Access Rotterdam offers an alternative to traditional access methods. Scaffolding and aerial work platforms are not suitable for every situation: assembly and disassembly take a long time, and their use can disrupt your business operations. Our certified climbers have faster access to the workplace, while surrounding work often continues uninterrupted. This minimizes disruption, shortens lead times, and in many cases makes renting scaffolding or an aerial work platform unnecessary.

Pipe-laying tower installation Waalhaven, Rotterdam

For over a year, our rope access specialists supported the conversion of a cable-laying vessel into a pipe-laying vessel for a major Dutch shipbuilder. During the construction and modification of the J-Lay tower, we installed hydraulics, electrical systems, and sensors, performed oxy-fuel cutting and welding work on platforms and jetties, and assisted with the replacement of pulleys and winch cables.

Facade installation | Residential tower Zwijndrecht

We were engaged by a specialist in facade installations for the complete dismantling of a facade installation at a height of 80 meters. Due to the location of the residential tower, the use of a crane was impossible. By employing rope access, our certified abseilers were able to safely dismantle the entire installation and reinstall it after overhaul.

Repair work on jack-up drilling platform | Shipyard, Rotterdam-Botlek

For a major Rotterdam shipyard, our specialists repaired the damaged legs of an American jack-up drilling platform over the course of a few months. The work, up to a height of 170 meters, included replacing ladders, removing the old water meter reading, and measuring and applying the new Plimsoll mark.

Final assembly offshore wind equipment | Vlissingen

For one of the world's largest maritime contractors, specializing in the design and construction of large steel structures for the offshore energy industry, we assisted for months in completing the construction of an installation intended to install foundation piles for offshore wind turbines. Our work included hoisting, component installation, assembly and repair of hydraulics, the placement and testing of sensors, and maintenance through painting and cleaning.

Facade installation maintenance | Commercial building, Weena Rotterdam

At Weena in Rotterdam, our IRATA-certified rope access specialists carry out periodic maintenance, inspections, and tests on a facade installation for window cleaners. This ensures the installation remains safe and compliant, and is operated efficiently without costly hoisting equipment or nuisance to the surrounding area.

NDT welding inspection crane | Rotterdam-Botlek Shipyard

For a Rotterdam shipping company, we performed NDT weld inspections on critical welds of a ship-mounted crane. Because the ship remained in port for only 48 hours, rapid deployment was essential. Within a short time, we mobilized a specialized rope access team to carry out all necessary inspection work.

Crane painting repair work | Crane vessel Maasvlakte

Rope Access Rotterdam carried out repair work on one of the cranes of one of the largest crane vessels in the world over a period of several weeks. Corrosion was thoroughly removed, after which the coating was reapplied to specification in a four-layer system.

Welding work on floating platform | Solar panel manufacturer, Velsen

For a manufacturer of floating solar islands, we performed TIG welding work on the aluminium structure. Thanks to the rapid setup and flexibility of rope access, our specialists were able to efficiently carry out the work above the waterline at multiple locations.
